QUOD: The vital role it plays in transplant research (Organ Donation Week, 09/23)

As we near the end of NHS Blood and Transplant Organ Donation Week, we highlight the vital part QUOD, Quality In Organ Donation, plays in transplantation research. The QUOD programme facilitates research into organ donation and transplantation by providing researchers with samples (e.g: blood, urine and tissue) and clinical data from appropriately consented/authorised organ donors. Dr Sarah Cross, National Operational Coordinator, QUOD, said: “QUOD enables researchers to develop better markers to assess donor organs, so more organs are able to be transplanted and these organs last for longer in the recipients.” See more here
